I have put the ribs on. Haven’t started the beans yet. Happy it’s a Saturday so I have the day off to make good food and work a bit outside. Possibly some fire table later if the Thermacells hold the mosquitos at bay.

Do you have interesting plans or good food you’re preparing this weekend? Feeling rich enough to take a drive across the border?

I’m driving to visit my parents in Victoria in a couple hours after the dogs are fed and walked. 21 hour drive, right into the belly of the beast.

What kind of ribs you making?

St. Louis racks, dry rub, in the oven.

I have not been on a long road trip in a long time. Do you take a ferry to the island?

Playing in a golf tournament this afternoon at a friend's private club. Then we're going to another friend's lake house for BBQ and lots of fireworks.

I was in Canada on Canada Day back in the early 00's and my brother and I had an amazing time bar hopping in Victoria. I know today isn't Canada Day but hoping everyone has a great weekend!

I’m surprised there hasn’t been talk of making it July 3 1/2th here just for spite.

Happy 250th you big beautiful FREE bastards.

<to do: insert video of the liberty island 1976 fireworks here>
