I mean the Chinese are what they are, but at least they are innovating.
I saw this video on the record breaking ICE car china designed, its 48% efficient. What they did was have electric drive train with a gas motor that powers a generator. The engine itself is designed to run at a constant RPM, and even has differential cooling, i.e. the head gets more cooling than the bottom of the crank case. A lot of weight savings too. Makes me wonder what the hell N. American engineers are doing.
