The political class is just the customer service department for the wealthy elite. Whatever colour or logo they bear, their responsibility is to message out and design policy/law/services around what the ownership class wants. The ownership class needs more consumers and cheap labour, well in comes millions of jeets. Rival/competitor owners trying make inroads into the Canadian market? Change the regulations and start a propaganda, er public relations campaign to 'buy Canadian'.

The political class will never get "fuck you'd" by the ownership class as long as it continues to serve... which it will, because examples of people/parties that did not act in their service and had their careers ended are plenty.
