Canadians: Refineries don't make economic sense. Meanwhile, America: We're building a new Poofinery!

Unfortunately, I have to do business with Indians and it sucks. They have no clue what they're doing and the only reason they're ever successful is because all the Indians they have helping them all don't know what they're doing either so no one can hold anyone accountable for being a failure such that they'll get the job done but by sacrificing some other Indian people down in the hierarchy to do it. They should not be here doing business and they're displacing quality White people because of the corrupt practices they engage in that Whites won't.
 
I think the concerns might be over blown but i am unsure. It is an investment but not necessarily that India will build the refinery. As to who will operate it and run day to day stuff i dont feel it will be entirely Indian.

Time will tell. Trump doesnt do this to up end American jobs. Also there is an education component.

When i took computer engineering they began hiring people who just graduated the program as there was a brain drain and no one willing to teach. We were being educated by people with no industry experience just know how. I think what will happen in the next few years as the refinery is built is the instrumentation, electrical engineers, computer engineers and other will be ramped up. It takes a lot of know how to make these refineries work. Some of those educators might actually be educators from India or China as there education system focused on these types of graduates. This is due to the current state of secondary education in USA and Canada. They also made sure there was opportunity for their graduates to grow their skills.

Time will tell of course but i can see why people feel the way they do at the moment.
 
Depends how big of an investor they are. If they're such a major player they can impact decisions regarding the project then their influence will likely be an issue. If they're a silent partner just giving their money away for other people to do all the work, then it's fine.
 
Are they building/manning it, like the Chinese would, or just investing in it, probably as a scam, as would be more typical of Indians.
 
I've never known Indians to invest in any construction project that didn't include them having their own people do the construction so they can try to make money on the project by under paying their own guys to do a shit job. Who knows the details though.

the reality in the USA is that the secondary schools were pushing useless education on the students. It will take time to fix this education issue and brain drain. The other issue is that they have damaged the upcoming kids so bad that many cant even read or do math at a competent level. This is gonna lead to more issues in repairing and building what has been damaged and needs to be restored as well as the engineered and maintained.

Musk says the solution will be the droids/robots. He isnt wrong but that will come at a cost to society.

To me the fix is to enter the education system and root out the cancer by mass firings or by setting new strict merit based systems that make the educators responsible for outcomes with punitive punishment's for failure. Firing these educators is way to nice I would suggest something way more harsh but I am not sure what that is at this time. Perhaps a system tied to bonuses that pad salaries. Dont achieve then the bonus is removed but in reality it was part of the persons salary also they cant teach for 1 year or something like that and can only teach again if they can prove they can produce results or a result.

Making a teacher work at a mcdonalds for a year isnt gonna kill em and maybe they will learn to not fook up and do their job.
 
@d01tg0d0wn The ability to do math and read are at the same levels they've always been at, if not better for the same kinds of people. Though, I'd argue the feminization of education has suppressed White men's math/reading skills. The issue is that our demographics have changed so we aren't comparing past data to present data holding the same kinds of people the same. When your society goes from a 105 average IQ pop society to an 85 average IQ pop society, you're going to get worse reading and math outcomes, regardless of the education system. There's no fixing this except to deport non-Whites. Robots are a hope and prayer that I doubt will work.

To fix the issue, all we have to do is deport non-Whites, abolish public education, lower taxes and get back to home-schooling. This won't happen. The trajectory currently is that there won't be a solution unless it's something drastic like robots. Musk knows this. Expect things to keep getting worse.
