It’s not just sex: Alcohol consumption has dropped by 54%, with youth (18 to 34) drinking falling ANOTHER 9% just between 2023 and 2025.

Back in 1991, more than half — 54.1% of all high school students — were sexually active. (The other 45.9% lied about it.)

By 2007, the number fell to 47.8%. Four years later, it dropped again to 43%. By 2017, it was just 39.5%.

As of 2023, it’s 31.6%.

What’s going on with kids today, with their wild, out-of-control abstinence and crazy teetotalling?!

It’s one of the strangest, most inexplicable cultural shifts in recent memory. I was certainly blindsided: I figured our sex drive was so biologically ingrained, it would never go away!

But it has. And with it, so has the U.S. birthrate: It’s now at a 40-year low.

We need a birthrate of 2.1 babies per woman to maintain our population. We’re currently at 1.6.

I don't think the total amount of sex has dropped, but that the distribution has. Probably the percent of females is near the same, but it is the percent of total males that has gone down. The smaller percent of males at the top are having more sex with the same percent of females. This is proven true for 18+ crowd, and it could easily be the same for the younger crowd.

It's terrible from a societal perspective, but it can't be helped given the tools of the modern age plus parents raising their kids poorly.
 
I have a friend who is exactly that: one of those top one-percent guys on Hinge, Bumble, and other apps who is absolutely crushing it.
 
Same. I know a guy in his 20s who is top 0.1%. I went clubbing with him and some 10/10 bombshell walks by us. I mention how hot she was. Buddy goes up to her, has her number in a few seconds and they hangout for a solid 30 mins (dancing). I asked him how it went and he said he was setting her up for another day cause another one of his girlfriends is meeting up with him now. This girl comes in and she's 11/10, better than the first girl. She was pretty open to the fact she wasn't even keen on being out and just showed up to fuck the hot guy once they left. I later found out he's actually "dating" another girl who's not only hot but smart too (in dentistry or something and she's fine with him fucking other girls). I just had to shake my head, it was kinda unreal. Guy looked like a hockey bro (doesn't play hockey) with the 20yo stash going and arm tattoos. He was on house arrest and had an ankle bracelet though so I'm sure that adds a solid +2/10 for the women.
 
Between the tattoos, facial piercings, SSRIs, ADD meds and general left-wing lunacy that seems to afflict young women I don't find any of this too shocking. Men are creatures of logic and generally won't play a no win game.

I would probably just stick to prostitutes if I was a young guy today. Never has the statement been more true than now, you do not pay them for sex you pay them to leave.
 
I know a couple of guys in their fifties who do that. Make good money, marriages behind them, don't want any hassle. Order up a girl once a week or so, then off they go. Nice and simple.
 
The thing is, I'd say about 30% of young non-fat women are prostitutes these days. You pretty much have no choice but to seek out prostitutes unless you want ugly women.

It's pretty much a given in downtown Toronto that a young, good-looking girl under thirty who doesn't have a freakishly high-paying job that's at least 250k a year (partner at a law firm, doctor, finance, etc.) has an OnlyFans or some other sex work-adjacent hustle. There is just no way they can afford a decent place downtown, on their own, plus travel, clothes, entertainment etc. without either parents' money, absolutely crushing amounts of debt, or they have a wealthy partner. It's at the point where I just assume they all have something going on.

The cute barista at Starbucks downtown Toronto isn't just barely making it working hard at her 9-5 Starbucks job. She's got some older guy paying her rent in exchange for sex. And probably has 1-2 other men who buy her things as well.

I know a 24yo girl who wanted me to do her taxes for her because it's the first time she ever had to do taxes before. She hasn't lived at home for 6 years and her parents don't give her money. Her income for the year was like $15k. She has a genuine LV purse. Thing is, I know she's a whore because that's how I met her... But there's tons of girls just like her out there.

A lot of the really hot girls at financial district/King West/Yorkville bars and restaurants supplement their already-decent tips with OF or sugar daddy arrangements, heard that first-hand from a couple of bartenders. I live in Yorkville and I can't think of any other way that a 24 year-old can live on her own in my area without some kind of arrangement, online or otherwise. I can think of at least three girls just in my apartment building that I'm quite certain have that going on.

I also don't think people are oblivious, if anything I would say most - especially men - probably know what's happening. I'm married, but single guys I know who are on the dating apps tell me there's a lot of that going on with the girls they meet. I also don't think there's a stigma to it anymore for girls in their 20s; they see these stories of influencers and OnlyFans girls who are multi-millionaires and figure, if they can, why not me? A girl that used to work in my law firm apparently has an OF and her husband shoots the videos!
 
@ex_libris Yup. I went hunting for sugar babies over a year ago because I wanted to test the SD/SB thing out. It seemed like it'd be cheaper and better than prostitutes and not even all that more expensive than regular tinder dating. I met a number of girls, all of them smoking hot and working some low paying service industry type job. Social workers, servers, fitness instructor, etc... I ended up dating one of the girls for about a year and it was a lot of fun. She really opened my eyes to what was going on with the younger generation. I remember we went clubbing and she asked if I wanted a 4some with her and 2 other girls if I paid the other girls. I said sure, why-not. Ended up with 3 girls nearly 20 years younger than me in my bed (none of whom normally escort on the side but were enticed by the offer from my gf). She ofc knew a lot of the other sugar babies in the area because they were her competition. It seemed like every restaurant or bar had at least 1 person working there who was taking money from older men. I met one waitress who had some guy from France who'd give her a monthly allowance to live in Canada and then he'd just fly her to France twice a year. Some of the arrangements these women had were insane. Most had 1-3 diff guys on the go at once. All of the girls were good looking. These are the exact kinds of girls most men would be chasing but most men don't realize they're literally competing with retired brain surgeon in France who flies her out twice a year and pays for everything for her. Good luck competing with that, lol.
 
@ex_libris I feel like I'm just a very adaptable and an extremely resourceful person. One thing I desire is sex with beautiful women so I seek it out... and how I live my life relates to seeking this out... which means I end up having to adapt and adjust to changes in society to acquire what I want. As it stands right now, I haven't used dating apps for years and I just buy women. Because that's what is best given the current system. Would I prefer a loving monogamous relationship? Sure, but that's not a reasonable pursuit in modernity anymore. That's why young guys aren't having sex anymore. They can't afford to have sex and many are chasing ideals that don't exist instead of adapting to reality.
 
@Jack Layton most people in my generation are going to die this way. My plan is death by hookers and blow in Central America when I'm around 60. Or I'll just MAID it up if I can't induce a heart attack after a couple weeks of cocaine binging and escorts.

I think social media has fucked everything up. Growing up I only had to compete with the other guys in my town for the 'fuckable' chicks, now they have access to everyone on Earth.

Furthermore there's porn everywhere now and if you are a lazy teenager who just can't be bothered, there you go.

Then there's the modern female mindset (not all, ofc) who are basically taught that men are disposable and they can be enslaved at any time for any reason. Regret having sex with that dorky guy? Call the cops and say that it was sexual assault. That way you get to claim victimhood and increase your street cred.

There are still quality women out there, but you would need to work to find them. They won't be on Hinge or Tinder or w/e the hell people use. Skip the Foreplay?

2 or 1? Nearly everyone has 1 if they're sexually active long enough but many aren't symptomatic or so minor they don't notice.

2 is not nearly as common but it seems to be more highly correlated to people with tattoos (in the White demographic).
 
Those dating apps I dunno about them. I have gone on them to check things out (for free to browse never bought membership so one could contact) I wonder about the quality of those people on them both males and females. I am sure many lie too. Too many have to high of standards ie. must be six feet, have a house/condo, well paying 6 figure job, have Don Juan looks, enjoy certain hobbies etc... Which I think s crazy. Most males I think just want normal women...

Back in pre internet days I used to read the singles section of the newspapers. My dad put an ad in one in 1994 and that is how he met his late wife (who was wife # 6) and they were marries for 22 years until she died. He is on wife # 7 now. Three of them died though two from cancer and one from Lou Gehrig's. But on that side of the family (he has four siblings) only one has been married once and the others 3-5 times... Yet my mother was only married once...

I keep hearing and believe the modern male has lower testosterone than males of the past and it gets lower every generation.

I also hear many do not want to get into relationships and have kids due to potential of divorce ( divorce became big with boomers in late 70's and 80's) and do not want to start over at 40 or 50...

Plus a lot of man child's out there who would rather play video games and live in mama's or granny's basement smoking weed all night but those types are usually reddit mods etc.. I am not into video games that much but as long as not life consuming play away.

Easy birth control, abortion, divorce etc have doomed the west in a way.

When I was on them what I found is that the quality women are the ones who aren't on them for long. All the best dates I went on were women who literally just made an account and I was like the second guy they matched. If a woman is on dating apps longer than a few months, she's toast. Men are the same way. If you're friends with guys using dating apps you can even observe the mental changes during the ups/downs rollercoaster ride. If a guy doesn't find a girl after a few months, it's pretty much game over for him too. He starts getting bitter/jaded about the whole dating thing and it comes out in how he deals with women in relationships, etc... which makes it that much harder to find women (lowers his quality so-to-speak).

It's true but men can fix this with TRT and other hormone drugs. High T doesn't solve anything. It's not some magic trick that makes women automatically like you if you have higher T. It just makes you hornier and more assertive which only helps men who didn't need help. A "creepy weirdo" (ugly guy women don't like) who is hornier and more assertive is just gonna land in prison faster for a false rape charge.

This is a big one but it's not the only one. There's actually a lot of men that don't care about the divorce problems that still can't find a woman to marry. There's so many issues with relationships right now, it's difficult to list them all. At the end of the day men want a woman who isn't going to be a liability for him but a lot of women want to be prized by the men such that they become a liability while adding little value to the man herself. It's rare for a man to find a relationship with a woman that's a net positive for him. That's the ultimate issue, if one is trying to be concise. The separation law and child support just makes it so the woman have to bring even more trust to the table (but they don't) so it just makes something that was already hard, a little harder. Most women can't even not be liabilities enough for a man to even consider marriage (despite the issues of separation).

A symptom not an underlying problem. These are the guys that try picking up women, get disgusted faces by the women in return and then men quickly learn they have no chance so they just keep playing video games because they've got nothing else to do. But also, there's nothing wrong with playing video games all day. Most people DO NOTHING all day. You browsed freecanada.win all day, instagram, shitpost on facebook, made dinner, witched a tv show, went to the grocery store and did FUCK ALL. Women's expectations that a man should be her entertainment and he should constantly be doing things other than playing video games to serve her interests is precisely the "she needs to add value" issue. A man should be able to fuck his GF, then go straight to video games without her having any problem with that. If she can't entertain herself, she's got problems not the man.

I still think the biggest problem is high taxes and high social programs. I think if taxes were lowered by 80% and government spending was cut by 80% (by abolishing all social programs), this would solve a lot of the issues. Stuff like alimony and 50/50 division of assets and child support need to be done away with entirely too.
