Police are investigating two vehicle fires on a Maple Ridge driveway and gunshots fired at a home.
“I heard three big bangs. I thought it was maybe fireworks going off. It was really strange,”
The bullets hit a child’s bedroom, with neighbours expressing disbelief that an incident like this could take place on their sleepy suburban Street.
...while the community gathered around the burning cars, members of the family were distraught, saying they had no idea why this was happening.

The SPS says it has published a series of videos on social media, aiming to reach people who are being lured into committing extortion-related crimes.

He encourages people who do get approached to walk away and contact the police.
“It is not worth the money, and if you are approached, say no and then contact the police, and then we’ll investigate it further,” Pollock said.
“There is a risk of getting arrested depending on your status in Canada. There is a risk of getting deported. There’s a risk of getting injured,” Pollock added.

Since this is not a South Asian problem, I'm sure these videos aren't geared towards the Punjabi community in general.

On Friday (Feb. 6), she met with federal Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree and the Secretary of State for Combating Crime, Ruby Sahota, to discuss the extortion crisis.

A news release from the City of Surrey noted that Locke made “a formal request for the appointment of a commissioner for extortion violence against Canadian,” but it did not say if she had asked again for a public safety emergency to be declared.

Anyone who has watched the disturbing videos of criminals shooting up houses in Surrey will note those shots are fired from handguns, not the hunting and target shooting rifles that the Liberals’ expensive scheme intends to seize from fully vetted, law-abiding Canadian citizens. The term “assault style” has no meaning – actual military-grade automatic rifles were banned in Canada nearly 50 years ago.

David Eby’s trade mission to India sent the wrong message

Premier David Eby, who is trying to take credit for designating Bishnoi group as a terror organization and pretending to be anxious about the safety of people in Surrey, had adamantly gone to India to do business with a hostile government despite protests and objections of the Sikh community.
His actions has only emboldened those who are trying to create fear in the minds of Indian diaspora. He therefore needs to look hard at himself in the mirror and take the blame for the worsening law and order problem in the city of Surrey instead of making hollow statements.

There is a saying in Punjabi, according to which it’s wiser to go after the mother of thieves rather than going after the latter...
The growing incidence of extortion-related shootings in Surrey is clearly a byproduct of foreign interference originating from India.
Initially they were targeting Sikh separatists active in Canada, leading to the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, but later they tuned their guns against many successful businesses.
