I saw one of those Canadian taxpayer funded anti-tariff ads on TV last night

It featured lots of empty streets and closed factories. They used a Ronald Reagan speech from the 80's where he's talking about the importance of free trade and how tariffs might seem to work at first, but eventually they devestate the economy.

Then at the end we see Ontario.ca or something like that.

They're wasting your money to run these in deep blue areas where most of the population already hates Trump.

Edit: Mistakenly hit post before I was done but that's about it. Not the most interesting thread but figured I'd share.

It’s Ontario’s economy being devastated by Ontario things. Tariffs have an impact, but are also being scapegoated when the largest issue is too many imports.

I get why they went with a Ronald Reagan speech. Boomer Cons still view him as one of the best conservative Presidents in recent memory.

But he sold out America in multiple ways and hearing him denigrate tariffs does nothing for me personally.

I'm also not sure what Ontario is hoping to accomplish. It seems like a total waste of taxpayer money. Trump is already in office. The cat is out of the bag.

Good job, Dougie. The federal negotiators must be happy with you.
