To many cars. Why wont you use public transport. This answer is based.

You tell me, do you think this public was safe, clean and efficient? Look at the people and tell me what you see, and what you don't.

Public transit is the way of the future, just as soon as we figure out what to do with the public.

Hell the word "public" is right up there with the word "Detroit" in that anything you attach it to immediately becomes worse.

Screw the transit setup Calgary’s system is a joke. There’s technically a direct bus downtown, but it only runs twice a day in and out. If you’re lucky enough to fit that schedule, fine it’s mostly worker types anyway so it's not bad. But the last one from my area leaves at 6:30 AM, and the regular bus I could take is already jam-packed by the time it gets here. No chance I’m standing on a bus for an hour.

So instead, I drive 45 minutes and pay $300 a month for parking, just to ride the C-Train for two lousy stops and even that feels like two too many.

Calgary transit is micky mouse everything. Eight years ago they where exploring digital payment options, so they sent delegates to Europe to see what they where doing. Meanwhile fucking saskatoon had a digital tap card system for 10 years already.

The digital system they finally came up is even more of a joke, relying on the honour system for people to activate the tickets on their phone was never going to work with our dishonourable imports. So scanning your phone screen at the train station is their fucking answer. What a shit show.

Me this weekend:

  • get on the subway with GF, going to be having some drinks so don't want to risk an encounter with the police who keep themselves busy harassing docile, compliant white people
  • as subway pulls into station, enact car selection protocol: watch cars go by, look for a car with an average number of occupants. If car has < average # of occupants, must be a murderer or nose rapist on board
  • select car, board, doors close
  • car smells like rotten feet, there's a negro male 1/2 way down wearing shoes with no socks, itching it's feet
  • GF looks nauseous, poor women and their heightened sense of smell
  • wonder why my selection protocol failed, look around the car, notice that every other occupant is a jeet (~15)
  • recall the fact that Indian gov't bought stink bombs from Israel, for use in crowd control, and they didn't work at all because jeets
  • amendment made to car selection protocol to account for the car demographics
  • move to adjacent car at next stop - acceptable smell, mixed group
  • drink heavily due to the absolute state of the demographics
Yes, TTC = "Take The Car"

Update from today:

  • GF goes to get on subway to go to appointment
  • she tells me the subway pulled up, overruns the platform by 2 cars, doors don't open
  • I text back, "let me guess, the subway was being driven by a diversity hire and it just fucked off without letting anyone off or on?"
  • response: "yup and yup"

Welcome to the 3rd world honey!

Yeah, tracks to a degree with my experience. I feel like you were taking the Bloor line (2) as Line 1 (Yonge) has Automatic Train Control (ATC) signals that prevent platform overshoots. And the TTC has definitely gone all in with DEI hires (they have a Chief Diversity Officer making about 250k a year to do...jack shit). It's why the system is less reliable and clean than it was even ten years ago when a lot of non-diverse old-timers who actually knew how to do things still worked there. Hell, when my Dad was hired in '74 many of the Inspectors and Superintendents were former English and Scottish army men who ran that place like a Swiss watch, and the station cleaners were mainly Italians and Portuguese who kept the stations as tidy as their houses.

There was a period of my life where I would take the GO train into work.

What a shitty existence it was. Wake up early, clean off the car, drive to the GO station and hope parking was still available. Cram into the train then Union station like a sardine amongst stinky brown people. Subway or walk. And that's just getting to work. Then you have the whole gay routine of getting home.

Thanks God I escaped that shit. You gotta do what you gotta do, but not giving up and finding the escape is so important.

He isnt wrong. In Edmonton people need vehicles to avoid the trash on the public transport system and from becoming a victim of crime and violent crime. Even walking is not recommended in Edmonton

Liberals and normies cant handle the truth

Everyone knows. Only poor people take the bus.

I was taking the bus a bit in my city within last year and half or so.

Never again, they were packing the people in shoulder to shoulder and most of them had horrible BO

Gave up on that and just went back to paying the parking fee for my car

If i road the piss bus or the Lrt i randomly would ask people if crowded if they touched my ass. This is why i cant ride the bus or lrt because i cant control my dark thoughts which most certainly would only get worse on public transit. That would make me look crazy and i am far from crazy
