The Kelowna RCMP are releasing a sketch of a suspect after a female youth was allegedly sexually assaulted in Rutland in late August.
According to the RCMP, the alleged assault happened behind a strip mall in the 300-block of Highway 33.
Police say the assault happened between 10 pm and midnight on Aug. 23.
The female victim reported that the unknown male fled the area on foot after the assault.
In an effort to identify the suspect, police are releasing a sketch in the hopes someone will recognize the man and reach out to the RCMP.
He is described as a 30-40 years old "with a darker complexion" and brown or black hair.
A news release said he is about 5’8 with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark t-shirt, blue jeans (or similar) and white sneakers.

“As this person is still not yet identified, the RCMP remind the public to be aware of their surroundings when walking alone during the evening hours,” the RCMP’s news release said.
“The public can expect to see police presence in the area of the assault throughout the day and evening.”
Anyone with information about the suspect or video surveillance of the area during the time of the assault is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Tip line (250) 470-6236.
Anonymous tips can be made by calling the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-847.
Looks like a Jeet, Pakistani/Indian. Description matches.
That area of town is flooded with Jeets, there's a Sikh Temple close by.
