The Jamaican government is enlisting King Charles to help get its demand for slavery reparations heard at the highest level.

The Jamaican government is enlisting King Charles to help get its demand for slavery reparations heard at the highest level.

The monarch has been approached to push the demand to the judicial committee of the Privy Council, the final court of appeal for UK overseas territories and some Commonwealth nations.

The move by Jamaica follows similar demands now being made across the Commonwealth.

@Trudeaus coke dealer: Oxtail stew is delicious but the British have it as well. Beans and rice are a staple of most hot-weather cuisines. Rotis are quite decent but again there are empanadas, pasties etc. in other traditions. I'm not saying that Jamaican food is bad, just that very little of it seems to be original to the Jamaicans themselves

The slavers started and continue to sell slaves in Africa, Libia and many other countries. It didn't begin with the British Empire and it didn't end with them.

Slavery is alive and well to this day. In fact, there are more slaves worldwide right now, than any other time in history.
