Hopefully, no one expected anything different. Canada has no leverage against the USA. Trying to negotiate when you have no leverage with "elbows up" is the worst strategy possible. You get punished in return and there's nothing you can do about it. Fortunately for us, it's clear Trump sees Canada as a joke and take pity on how retarded we are or things could be significantly worse for us. The "products which never had tariffs before" are likely going to be dairy products which the USA should do. I can't blame them. Canada needs to end all the national supports into dairy. It's absolutely absurd. I once did my own deep-dive into things and concluded Canada's support for the dairy industry is among the highest government supports for any industry by any country in the world. Trump putting pressure on the dairy cartel is actually beneficial for Canadians in the long-run even if in the short-term, it hurts Canadians. The real issue isn't Trump but Canadians themselves. Our government and its people refuse to actually do anything for ourselves to help ourselves. Instead, Canadians are content blaming others for their own problems and our government is content with the status quo where they steal all of the people's resources while doing nothing beneficial for the people (likely because they find Canadians too stupid to respect. I know if I was the leader of Canada, I'd come to resent Canadians for how retarded they are).
