The Americans still have a far, far better prognosis than Canada right now. Their conservative party is the ruling party, whereas ours is the liberals. Those conservatives are showing strong signs of rejecting woke and among some even awareness of demographic change. Combine that with the fact they have ready access to guns and constitutionally protected speech rights, and America has a fighting chance. Canada by contrast will die quickly like a sea change, we have no speech rights and the population is still quite blind and trusting where the institutions control them. Our good cohesion metrics we have on paper will disappear fast, you'll blink and we'll be reaching america's 50%. I don’t necessarily disagree, although the ‘right/left’ political vehicles are fake and gay in both countries. We do have some advantages here. For one, our ‘elites’ are far less competent and have fewer resources to control us and exercise hard power. We have more unpopulated land (more places to potentially hide). Our climate is harsher, which can be a deterrent to migrants getting too comfortable. The course correct will come when the bread and circuses run out.

The House passed a sprawling package of kids online safety bills Monday night, marking the first time a version of the landmark Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) made it out of the lower chamber.

The House passed the Kids Internet and Digital Safety (KIDS) Act in a 267-117 vote, with 47 members not voting.

The package, taken from portions of 14 digital safety bills, was brought to the floor Monday under a fast-track process called suspension of the rules, which requires two-thirds majority support for passage.

It now heads to the Senate, where it will face an uphill battle over the House’s changes made to KOSA and other provisions. The bill includes provisions on age verification, AI chatbots, data protections and raising awareness about drug sales on social media.

Its passage comes just one week after House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) announced the KIDS package received new support from ranking member Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.), months after negotiations first fell apart between the two parties.
