Ego vs. Cosmic Consciousness: Drawing on the premise that physical matter (atoms, protons, photons) is fundamentally conscious, Porlier asserts that the physical body and universe share this innate awareness [
00:55]. The ego—our abstract identity and self-thought—is the primary element that feels disconnected from this unity [
01:07].
I disagree that it's the ego (alone) that creates the disconnect. The Gnostics believed it was the Demiurge (false God) who creates the disconnect and it's far more complex than merely 1 thing (ego) but has 7 main elements to it overseen by the 7 Archons.
The Subjectivity of Time: Rather than time being a universal constant shared equally, each person maintains an individual relationship with time that is entangled with their thoughts and ego [
02:32].
Don't necessarily agree with this but the idea that time isn't exactly how we perceive it is a sound idea. Many people have experienced oddities surrounding time that make them think it's different. Even in physics, we already know time isn't exactly constantly counting down the same for everyone everywhere. Spacetime is a real thing, thus it's not unreasonable to surmise we still don't quite understand all the possible impacts to time and how time functions to everything given unknown circumstances.
The Universe as a Dream: Porlier challenges scientific timelines (such as the 13.8-billion-year age of the universe) by comparing existence to a dream [
03:32]. Just as a dream forms instantaneously in consciousness without requiring billions of years [
04:08], physical reality could be structured as an instantaneous creation within universal consciousness [
05:25].
Comparing the universe to a dream is actually a very common philosophical/spiritual/religious take on the understanding of the universe. It's similar to atheists suggesting we live in a simulation. It's a good take.
Quantum Wave Function & "Waking Up": Viewing early cosmic evolution through the lens of a quantum wave function rather than fixed particles [
05:49], he suggests that true self-awareness allows an individual to collapse the wave function, move beyond dualistic identity, and "wake up" to ultimate reality [
06:07].
This is another Gnostic take except with modern understanding thrown into the mix.
On his Jesus Christ explained video, it really sounds like he hasn't read Gnosticism but may have read some spiritual takes (that are heavily influenced by Gnosticism) and then came to his own conclusions. In Gnosticism, Jesus Christ is the son of the true God not the son of the false God (Demiurge) and Jesus comes to Earth to attempt to get people to escape the prison created by the Demiurge. When Jesus dies and is resurrected, he comes alive again as energy/light that is part of the "oneness" (dream) that originates from the true God and returns to this source (escaping the Demiurge's prison) as Jesus intended for all humans to escape from. This aligns with what he's trying to say but he doesn't necessarily realize these ideas were already laid-down thousands of years ago. He may have stumbled upon the idea when he had a drug-induced mental-breakdown. Not at all uncommon because these situations are often triggers from trying to think differently about everything. If Gnostics were right to some degree then it's not unusual for someone else to come to similar conclusions by having felt similar things in life to what the Gnostics did which led to the Gnostics coming to similar beliefs on things. Overall, this guy sounds more advanced than most people on his understanding of life and it aligns well with a lot of other thinkers on the subject. Of all the people to arrest, this guy isn't it. He's the kind of guy who would be part of the solution but I can definitely see how someone might build a "he's crazy and dangerous" case for him when really he's just thinking about things most people refuse to think about.
