Surrey Shooting updates (Apr 4 - May 16) || YTD: 48 shootings

SHOOTING -- (Car accident and shooting, one injured)

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
But further investigation revealed the victim was also suffering a gunshot wound, allegedly shot while driving...
 
SHOOTING -- (Bullet ends up in car of innocent driver)

...the family drove through the area, a stray bullet entered their vehicle through an open window and landed inside the cup holder of one of the children’s car seats
(Mission is about 30 minutes drive from Surrey)
 
SHOOTING -- (House damaged by bullets)

No one was reported injured, but officers reportedly found a residence damaged by bullets.

...reports of shots being fired into a vehicle.
....officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
...another man, was transported to hospital with “reportedly minor injuries.”
Video circulating online, which is reported to be of the incident, shows two individuals, dressed in all black, exiting a car armed with what appear to be assault rifles before opening fire. One victim can be seen evading the gunmen, crawling through the grass.

NEWS -- (no gang unit yet in for Surrey Police)

Police say they weren’t happy about the reassignment, but had no choice...
“We were ordered by the Superintendent of Policing to fully take over District 4 on April 1, instead of implementing a phased approach, as we had requested...

...found shell casings and confirmed several shots had been fired into an unoccupied business.

...officers attend the scene, which is “at a business.”
“Upon arrival, SPS officers located a man apparently suffering from gunshot wounds and provided medical assistance until BC Emergency Health Service (BCEHS) arrived,” he added.
“Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced deceased on scene.”

NEWS -- (Information requested)

Twenty-year-old Prabhjot Singh was arrested in early 2026 and later deported after an investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency.
Now, the SPS is asking for information on the foreign national’s associates and activities while he was in the country.
 
SHOOTING -- (2 people in critical condition)

Just before 4 a.m. Sunday morning, Surrey Police Services (SPS) was called to the Chevron gas station between 70th Avenue and 72nd Avenue at 152nd Street.
Police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds and tried to help them until paramedics arrived.
 
SHOOTING -- (House shot at)

No one was injured, but police found the home had been damaged by gunfire, and they found bullet casings outside.
