In an effort to remove politics and ideology from classrooms, the Alberta government has introduced new legislation leaders say will focus on teaching fundamentals like reading, math and science.

My kid didnt want to do a social justice project and was permitted to do another non social justice project instead but the teacher punished him because of it. Other teachers i am not sure if they are punishing him as well as well as he is an A+ student and he is getting A in some classes where social justice is also pushed.

I remember civics when I was in school there was never any slant to it it was just this is how government works.

You can't educate people without politics and ideology. What history do they learn? That's all politics and ideology. What does one learn in English class? That'll all my politics and ideology. In science what are you taught regarding biology? That'll involve politics and ideology.

Can someone explain me how this is a good thing?

Because they cant teach that stuff they dont need to seek approval is how i understand it.
