Federal politics: New Leger survey shows Carney's Liberals climb to 49% and lead the Conservatives by 14 points. Government satisfaction: 59%.

Less than a year after the 2025 federal election, the minority Liberal government led by Mark Carney continues to strengthen its position in public opinion.

As the Prime Minister Carney advances diplomatic initiatives on the international stage and works to stabilize the economic climate at home, the latest Léger data shows a continued rise in both satisfaction and approval ratings. Results indicate that 59% of respondents say they are satisfied with the government, while 61% approve of the Prime Minister’s performance.

Electorally, the Liberal Party of Canada (LPC) now holds 49% of decided voter intentions, a 14-point lead over the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC), which stands at 35%.

I am personally surprised it is so low of a lead.

The CPC has no leadership, their platform is just the same as the Liberals, so why bother changing governments.

All the new stock Canadians love the Liberals for bringing them to our once great country, so expect them to vote Liberal regardless.

Anything here is better than India.

Conservatives have lost a little bit of support, but the real story is the complete collapse of the NDP. Jagmeet killed that party, now it’s corpse is barely better then the Green Party.

Does anyone see more of a shift to the left by LPC because of this? Any possibility of a resurgent NDP once they decide on a leader?

I don’t see the NDP coming back until they have a credible leader and until the Liberals have to start making difficult financial decisions. Either inflation is going to come back, or national debt is going to become an issue and the liberals are going to have to make cuts. Only then do I see the NDP as drawing support again.

Cons did not lose support, they gained 7.5% more votes in 2025 than 2021.

Libs gained 11%, Dippers down 11.5%.

Overall turnout was 7.2% higher than previous.

Dippers had been in the 15%-20% range except for the chick leaders in the 90s and Layton receiving the Quebekker protest vote and spiking to 30%.

The chicks bottomed out support to 6% just like Jaggy did - but they weren't in bed with the Libshits and weren't tarred with ruining the country with Turdy when they're supposed to be an opposition party.

The party had come back for a similar dismal electoral result but they haven't been forced to answer for government action before and they might not know how to deal with that.

Turdy gave them a whiff of power, no seat at the table and then were given all of the blame / consequence for fucking up - I can't see that track record bringing in the donations.

Yep. All the ndp voters moved to the liberals. The conservatives have more supporters than ever before. It’s all about the ndp collapse as you said.

the last federal eelection polls had fed liberals at a majority and that didnt happen. This is proof the polls are fake and ghey for those not sure.

Since Carney came to power life has gotten even worse for all Canadians across Canada. I would expect that people would desire any change that might improve their lives. Carney is not offering a better life but a much worse one. The cons should be polling higher and most likely are but bias polls wont indicate this and its obvious
