Canada’s trade diversification push goes into reverse

For all the talk in Canada about the need for trade diversification, exports to non-U.S. markets declined for the second month in a row in July, a stark reminder that the push to reduce the country’s exposure to its largest, yet unreliable, trading partner will be a long process.
Exports to countries other than the U.S. fell 8.6 per cent in July from the month before, after a 4.2-per-cent drop in June, according to Statistics Canada.
As a result, non-U.S. exports as a share of total Canadian shipments to the world dropped back to where they were in October, before the election of President Donald Trump.
Love that the Globe is shocked by this fact. I thought we were EU members?!

Funny how environmentalists completely forgot about the giant ocean between us and "other trade partners". Can't build a goddamn pipeline across Canada but we can try to increase imports/exports via ocean faring tankers. The only thing that amazes me these day is how stupid Canadians are.

So what happened to all the inter provincial trade they were talking about? Christ if you can't make deals to trade within your own country how the hell are they going to make deals with other countries?

Anyone who buys this bullshit is a moron. They're not going to accomplish anything.
