Video wont embed but link above is safe and in my opinion worth clicking.

If i had a time machine i think i would make a stop back in this period of time just to check out stuff like this. What other neat things am i not aware of from this time period? That person sure had some cool stuff in the background worth checking out all of it lost to time.

Some years ago I visited NYC and paid a visit to the Chrysler Building just to gawk at the famous Art Deco lobby. The 20s and 30s seem like a much "cooler" period to me than the 50s and 60s, from the original Felix the Cat cartoons to the Thin Man movies and Modernist writers such as Joyce and Huxley

d01tg0d0wnMy time machine trip would be spent having a conversation with Gavrilo Princip. I would explain WW1 and WW2 to him as well as the far reaching ramifications. I don't intend to stop him I only want to know if he still desires to pull the trigger even knowing what it leads to.

Eh he was more of a straw that broke the camel's back. I think it would have manifested only mildly different had it not been he who pulled the trigger.

If it wasn't him it would have been someone else is absolutely true. That being said he still amounts to being the human butterfly effect. Someone else from somewhere else over something else at some other time may lead to things playing out differently.

Ever see that Boondocks where MLK Jr gets to come back and see the state of the modern negro and turns on them?

I always kind of wonder what people would think of the long term effects of their handy work.

Did Martin Luther think hammering that letter to the door would lead to what it did?

Anyways I guess my usage of a time machine boils down to bothering historical figures and picking their brains.

Yeh it showed so in the video near end but you know they arent the same. Nothing is crafted well anymore. Plus imagine a time where these were common and most likely everywhere or were they for the rich only

You should buy one now that I made you aware. You can impress the kids

"this video is not available in your country"

I'm seeing a lot more of these messages from Youtube lately (i.e. over the past few weeks), which seems strange considering that we're supposedly all living in the same country

I would go back in time and explain how things are going so awful in Canada to John A etc and make sure we had a proper constitution/charter/bill of rights etc Rights of self defence, to bear arms, no special treatment for feathers, no third world immigration etc

Thats actually really good i second that motion.

The lightbulb thing makes me wonder about lost technologies. It is nice to see that a company is trying to revive something classic like this. Maybe this trend will catch on and the world might go full steam punk lool

if you want to go back. what about dancing. that used to be a thing. i miss that. a bit.

If i did go back i would definatly get out and go dancing. Thats a good suggestion. At least we still have the music to listen to if we want now. Kinda takes me there if i shut my eyes and imagine it while listening to the music of the era

I would love to take my wife to this time and go out on the town and dine at all the right places all dressed up and looking sharp. It is rare if we do this anymore.
